The Bear's Lodge

You work with the eminent Professor B. T. Rose, a quite forgetful man. As of late, you noticed it is getting slightly worse.
He seems to have misplaced an important notebook.
Will you help him find it?

A short story that wasn't intended for Twine. An escape game with words (but no bears).

A few codes to crack will hinder you on your mission.
You might want to take some notes while you’re reading, for there are some subtle clues hidden.
... Probably too subtle.
There are no pictures to this story, so it will not be so easy to spot important items as it would in a point-and-click video game.

But unlike many works of interactive fiction, there is only one ending, so at least you know you’re heading to success!

(There is a document with clues & all the answers below. Just saying.)

At first, I was inspired by the show "Escape this podcast" and wanted this story to be played verbally as a kind of treasure hunt, where one person has the clues and presents the story to somebody else who must try and solve it.

Then the word count got out of hand, and I didn't find somebody to test it.

As it is my first story with Twine that entails some programming, it isn't polished at all, I just wanted to have something that works and there are maybe redundancies in the interactions. For example, I didn't implement a map or an inventory.

This game is 100% Human Made.
No generative AI was used in the process of making it.
